Odoo implementation in the Dominican Republic
Implementing Odoo is not installing a program. It is organizing how your company works and then moving that reality into a system that reflects it.
We do it with financial judgment, not just technical skill: we are corporate finance advisors who implement the ERP, and that difference shows in the decisions we make with you during the project.
Electronic invoicing
The DGII deadline is 15 November 2026
Law 32-23 made electronic invoicing mandatory in the Dominican Republic in phases. Large national taxpayers started in May 2024; large local and medium-sized taxpayers, in November 2025. The final group — small businesses, micro-businesses and unclassified taxpayers — has a deadline of 15 November 2026, following the extension the DGII announced in Notice 06-26 of 6 May 2026.
This is not a date on which you simply switch electronic invoicing on. And the voluntary period has already closed: Law 32-23 granted a tax credit to those who registered before they were required to, and that window is behind us. There is no longer an incentive to gain, only a deadline to meet.
We handle the authorization process with you as part of the project, instead of leaving it on your side. Even so it takes several weeks, and demand concentrates as the date approaches.
Deadline
15 Nov 2026
Small businesses, micro-businesses and unclassified taxpayers
Issuing e-CF requires four things
- An active RNC, up to date with your tax obligations
- A digital certificate issued by an authorized certification authority
- Software able to issue e-CF in line with the standard
- Authorization from the DGII as an electronic issuer
None of the four is immediate.
Where to start if you have not done anything yet
Check your classification with the DGII
It determines whether your date was November 2025 or is 15 November 2026.
Make sure you are up to date
Without your tax obligations in order, the electronic issuer authorization will not move forward.
Obtain the digital certificate
It is issued by an authorized certification authority and it is not immediate.
Decide which system you will issue from
This is the decision that weighs most, because the next few years of your operation depend on it, not just November compliance.
That last point is where most companies get it wrong: they solve compliance with a standalone tool and six months later find they still have accounting, inventory and sales in systems that do not talk to each other. If you are going to have to change anyway, it is worth doing it only once.
What implementing Odoo actually involves
What usually happens
Most ERP projects that go wrong do not fail because of the software. They fail because nobody sat down first to understand how the company invoices, how it buys, how it collects and who decides what. A system gets configured on top of processes nobody organized, and the result is an expensive Odoo that people avoid by going back to their spreadsheets.
How we do it
We first map how your company works today, point out what is worth changing before automating, and only then configure. It is slower at the start and far cheaper at the end.
How we work
Five stages. The order matters as much as the content.
Process mapping
We sit down with the people who do the work, not only with management. We document the real flow of sales, purchasing, inventory, collections and month-end close. That is where the map comes from: what to automate, what to fix first and what is not worth touching yet.
ERP design and configuration
We configure Odoo on top of that map: chart of accounts, cost structure, approval flows, role-based permissions. We customize what is necessary and avoid the rest: every customization is debt you pay at every version upgrade.
Electronic invoicing and DGII compliance
We leave e-CF issuance working and handle the electronic issuer authorization with the DGII alongside you. Also formats 606, 607 and the other reports your accounting has to file.
Data migration
We bring across product catalog, customers, suppliers, balances and the history you actually need. Migrating everything is rarely a good idea: we load what will be used and keep the rest accessible as an archive.
Training and support
We train your team on their own system, with their own data, not with generic examples. After go-live we stay close through the first closes, which is when the real questions appear.
Which areas we cover
Odoo brings together on one platform what many companies today keep in separate systems or in spreadsheets.
Sales and CRM
Quotations, opportunity tracking, customer portfolio.
Invoicing and accounting
e-CF, bank reconciliation, financial statements, DGII formats.
Inventory and purchasing
Real-time stock, replenishment, cost control.
Projects and services
Billable hours, profitability by project.
Human resources
Payroll, time off, employee records.
Reports and KPIs
Indicators for your business, not generic templates.
You do not have to start with everything. In most cases it is better to start with the area that hurts most and grow from there.
Why a finance firm and not just a software house
A technical implementer configures whatever you ask for. We discuss whether what you are asking for is what suits you, because the same team that configures the system is the one that knows how to read your financial statements.
That changes concrete things:
- How your chart of accounts ends up structured.
- Whether your cost structure lets you know which product leaves a margin.
- Whether the reports that come out of the system help you decide or only help you comply.
These are decisions made during the implementation, and they are expensive to reverse afterwards.
